Research/Development: Potassium iodide is strictly recommended for short term use to aid in clearing and supporting the upper respiratory system where heavy thick congestion (mucos) is evident or as recommended by your vet.
General Characterisation: Supportive in clearing heavy congestion from the upper respiratory system.
Benefits: Encourages thick congestion to be more easily removed to assist breathing and hasten recovery.
Active Ingredients (per dose): Potassium Iodide 99.5 %. Product Properties: Hygroscopic, white, high density powder.
Example of Use: Administer into horses feed daily for a period of 3-5 days (or as recommended by your vet). It is recommended to premix 6 g to 500 mL litre of water then add to feed; or where adding direct, ensure feed is well wet down.
Additional Product descriptive data: Hygroscopic – draws moisture to saturation point. Keep well closed when not in use and immediately close after using.
Recommended daily dose: 5 - 6g daily per 500 Kg live bodyweight. Short term use only. I scoop as enclosed = 6 grams.
General Precautions: Always ensure access to clean, fresh water at all times. Horses must be actively drinking to flush out any excess material. Use on veterinary recommendation or consultation or to alleviate congestion on a short term basis. Caution: Do not feed to a horse that is not drinking or has kidney problems.
