FibreSafe Timothy Pellets are made from high quality horse dedicated Hay grown in Otago – chopped and then cold pressed into a  high density pellet. There are no additives and the product is not heated or further processed during the pelleting process.

Timothy Pellets are a palatable high fibre, moderate protein, low calorie feed.   Timothy is a late-maturing high fiber bunchgrass with a relatively low protein content.  It has long been considered the gold standard in grass hays for horses.  Horse owners have found that Timothy  promotes a shiny coat, good digestion, bowel regularity, and a healthy weight. It is also excellent for colic prone, laminitic, and obese horses.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this product need to be soaked before feeding?
No – this is a compressed product that will break down and increase in volume as the horse chews it and after it enters the stomach.  However it doesn’t swell and is preferable to feed unsoaked as this encourages more chewing and saliva production. If your horse has dentition issues then soaking would be beneficial.

This is a dense concentrated product.  Will my horse eat it too quickly?
In our experience when feeding  this product to our own horses we have found that they take just as long if not longer to eat the same weight of pellets as they do equivalent chaff.  As our pellets are reasonably large and hard they encourage lots of chewing and salivation. Both of these things are very desirable for gut health and reducing the risk of gastric ulcers.

Feeding Recommendations
Feed 1 – 2kg daily as part of a balanced diet.
